Today was our time to make up for the things we missed during the week. Namely, the Musee de Orsay and the Catacombs, both of which had foiled us with their long lines before. I especially wanted to see the Catacombs, since I had tried and failed to visit them when I was in Paris with Tyson. First up was the museum, for which we got up at an ungodly hour.
The line was long, but not as long as before. Stellar wigged out when she saw what was inside. There were some of her favorite pieces by her favorite artists. I recognized almost none of them, so I just went along for the ride and enjoyed the new experience.
Some of my favorites:
At noon, Stellar and I broke off and went to the Catacombs. Mimi and Emily wanted to stay in the Orsay. They're probably glad they did - the Catacombs were amazing, but definitely not for everyone.
It was creepy. Really creepy. But also weirdly thrilling and fun. The Cask of Amontillado, the Edgar Allen Poe story that is set down there, just got several times scarier for me.
At the exit they checked our bags. On the table we saw bones that had already been taken from people trying to carry them away. Poor skulls. They have no chance of finding their bodies now.
We're off for one more baguette-and-cheese picnic for our last night in Paris. We're all checked in and ready, so the next time you hear from me I will probably be in Amsterdam. Au revoir!

They let you take pictures in the museums? When I went to the Prado in Spain and many of the castles in Germany, pictures were not allowed. I could have had my own Mona Lisa!
