The Return of the Underground Mall

I have a feeling I'm going to be spending a lot of time here when the weather isn't nice. Well, I saw a movie this afternoon. Luckily Koreans, who apparently trust that most of their movie-watching population can READ, don't feel the need to dub all their foreign movies, so I got to watch The Crazies in English (can you tell that I have a beef with the way we tend to handle foreign films in America?). It was delightfully scary.

Wandered around the mall a bit...
I guess I was field trip day for some elementary school.
TOTORO! I came so close to buying an overpriced Ponyo plushie, you don't even know.
I think these diaries have an inferiority complex.
Here's the movie theater. It's very sprawling and futuristic.
I want to see this movie like none other. Do you think it'll be released in the States one day?

If Hollywood were to make a movie about old lady robbers with guns, it would be with tongue so firmly in cheek that their jaws would be in serious danger of breaking. This looks tongue-in-cheek, but also kind of badass. Like they believe that old ladies might actually be capable of kicking some ass.

  1. I am capable of kicking some ASS! When you are 50 something, you are qualified to be an old lady (which I am). Loving your blog - I hope you continue to keep this up since it is becoming my daily high-light.

  2. Well, obviously! That's why this movie was made in Korea - old Korean ladies are fierce!

I'm glad you like it. I'll try to keep it up the whole trip.
